thedude 10
I just bought a Ruger LCP http://www.ruger.com/LCP/ Damn these things are hard to find. It's a clone of a Keltech p3at, but given a lot of reports I've read questioning the reliability I had never bought one. When I read about Ruger releasing the LCP I knew I had to have one. My previous carry gun was a Ruger P345, I love the pistol but it was too big and heavy to carry 24x7. Given my happiness with the P345 I figured a tiny 380 made by the same company would make my day. I bought it online at gunbroker, comparing apples to apples with buying locally I paid $325 for it which seems to be the going rate. As soon as I got home from picking it up I loaded two magazines and gave it a workout. It jammed with a FTFeed on the last round of every magazine. This happened with both magazines I had for it. I was concerned but I decided to clean it thoroughly and try another brand of ammo before shitcanning it. After a cleaning it runs 100%. So far I've run about 100 rounds through it post cleaning and it has worked perfectly. During the cleaning I noticed what appeared to be heavy grease which probably gummed it up enough to prevent reliable operation. BTW you'd probably think a 380 would have no noticeable recoil (I know I did, but I'm not a gun nut) but after shooting 50 rounds through it in one day I definitely felt it in my hand the next day! I guess that if you subtract enough mass from a 22LR there will be some noticeable recoil. All in all, if you're interested in a tiny carry gun, you need to take a look at this one! Godcopp 10
Dude, dude. You email change? I sent you a couple of notes, but they got kicked back. Ya need to bring that new piece over to the house, we'll shoot off the back porch. You know I'm a Ruger freak, too. Glad to see ya around again.
thedude 10
I'm all for it, where are you at? SE TX I presume? I was at the gun show at the George R Brown this past weekend. My father in law bought a Keltec PF11. It seemed like a nice pistol, just a little big for me to consider it a pocket gun.
Godcopp 10
SE Conroe, close by. I wanted to catch that show, but I couldn't make it. My father-in-law has a P11,also; I just can't get used to that heavy, long, striker fired trigger pull.
thedude 10
...well, you won't like the LCP then! Honestly I expect either a strong safety or a long double action pull in a carry gun. The LCP doesn't have a safety, other than your finger, but that doesn't bother me because of the long pull. I figure that if I were ever unlucky enough to have to use it the badguy will be within 15' or so. Let's hope he cooperates! (or gives me enough time to get home to a rifle!) goodspeed 10
I love it when other ppl talk about guns. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :rasta: I wanna come shoot off the back porch. But if it's ok I'll bring some SigSauers, Glocks, H&Ks, Colts, Para Ordnances, Berettas, Franchis, Benellis, Brownings, Smith&Wessons from the Performance center, and It's late and I cant think of what else I all have. How about I just bring them all. Saves me time typing a list. Pretty much if it was made, I have owned it, or I own it. Good enuff?

Airfare not included!! Oh hell ya! and only 30 miles from my house, woohoo! Have you guys seen the MP5 .22 LR clone? I fondled one at the gun show last weekend, that thing would be a lot of fun to play with.

No, gimme a link if you can. That could be fun AND cheap to shoot. BTW. Do either of you guys reload? I have been for quite a while now. I do all my handgun and rifle rounds. No shotgun tho. I have been for quite a while now. I do all my handgun and rifle rounds. No shotgun tho. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=106718114 That looks so cool, but right now my next gun purchase will be a Ruger 10/22. Cheap, reliable and there are tons of aftermarket parts for it. My dad bought me a single shot 22 when I was about 6 or 7, I still have it and plan on introducing my son to shooting with it. At that point I will want a 22 to shoot also so I will buy a good semi-auto to plink with before then. I don't reload, I think it looks like an interesting hobby and will probably do it one day, but as of right now I don't have the scratch to get into it.
goodspeed 10
Thats kind of neat looking. Never heard of the mfgr before tho. I have a COLT conversion for my CAR-15 in .223 so that it can shoot .22. Works in any AR clone also. Ruger 10-22s are the small block Chevvies of .22s. TONS of aftermarket parts. Remington Viper is a tad cheaper and outshoots a 10-22 all day long. No foolin. I had my own gunsmithing business for many years and have toyed with just about everything out there. So if you guys have any questions feel free to ask away. :rasta:
thedude 10
I took some pics of my LCP. The holster slides in my front pocket and keeps the gun from, well, looking like a gun. The dvd is to show you the relative size. If you're fruiting out over the lint, remember this is a carry gun...it get cleaned once per week
Paintballgirl(TPF) 10
Awwwww. That's such a "CUTE" little gun. Might take an act of Congress though. lol:biggrin:

Good luck with that, I'm just glad I don't have any daughters, yet The man in my avatar is Walter Sobchak from The Big Lebowski. The funny thing is that I forgot his name when you asked, during the quick google search to place his name I found what will become my new avatar. Thanks! I went to the author's website and found some awesome pics, including both His Dudeness and Walter. Awesome!

goodspeed 10
I got a bad bug to buy something. I really want another handgun but with 63 of them already I surely don't need another one. Not sure tho. Could be fun. I think I wanna find something to just leave up north and not worry about. Any ideas? I'm open to suggestions.

Anything I could suggest you probably already own. However I think it would be cool to have one of the S&W 500s. A FN 5.7 might be cool to shoot. I would also like to have an authentic cowboy 41 magnum or a 45 LC, but if I bought one of those I would have to have the real deal leather gun belt and holster with loops for extra cartridges. Of course that would start the itch for a 3 gun cowboy combo of a single action pistol, dbl-barrel 12 gauge coach gun and a 30-30...hmm, I already have a 30-30!
